Lane County Animal Services is continuing its effort to develop disaster preparedness plans for our furriest community members, hosting a kick-off meeting in Florence.

“We want to engage as many people as we can into planning for the safety of our pet communities,” said Karen Gaffney, Lane County Health and Human Services assistant director. “There are a lot of community members with specialized animal education and training, as well as those of us who haven’t been trained but are willing to help. We’re welcoming all who have a desire to help us prepare our pets for when an emergency strikes.”
