Lowe Family performs Nov. 14

Lowe Family performs Nov. 14

“Think colossal. Then think beyond that," says entertainment reporter Julie Kilmer.  "Only then do you have an idea of the titanic amount of talent within the Lowe Family.  They're a miraculous combination of every kind of musical, theatrical and dance talent you can dare to imagine, and then some!"

On Monday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. the Lowe Family will pay a visit to Florence with their spectacular combination of music, dance, and Broadway-style staging.

They have been entertaining hundreds of thousands around the world for over 25 years. Versatile on many instruments, the nine Lowes offer an amazing blend of show-stopping classical, Broadway, Irish, jazz, bluegrass, old-time favorites, spectacular dance, six-part harmony, gospel, and a stirring patriotic tribute.

All of the Lowe Family siblings began studying and performing the music of the masters from very young ages.  Soon additional instruments, dance classes, and vocal lessons were added, along with more teachers and more practice time.

'Swampland' at aquarium through Jan. 3

'Swampland' at aquarium through Jan. 3

From The Oregon Coast Aquarium

With two months left to see the Swampland, visitors are invited to discover the animals and habitats of three different types of swamps during “The Last Sixty Days of Swampland,” before it is dismantled beginning January 3, 2012.

Swampland is an elaborate immersive experience, with colorful murals depicting three different types of swamps. Exotic creatures make their homes here among replicated South American swamps of the Pantanal, a mangrove swamp and a cypress swamp. Swampland focuses on the role of animals in these ecosystems, using a narrative style of interpretation within a storybook format that tells a fascinating tale.
